Lace wig adhesives were not designed for individuals with hair. They were designed for those unfortunate individuals who suffer from hair loss such as alopecia sufferers, lupus, burn victims’ e.t.c. These adhesives are very strong and are made to withstand perspiration and moisture of any kind. Applying these adhesives to healthy hair will cause the hair follicle to be covered for extended periods of time. Your hair follicle is a living organism it will eventually circum to the lack of oxygen and die.
Now many providers will tell you that the hair loss is due to improper application or removal. This is partly true, but the hair you lose due to application and removal will grow back. The hair lost due to the death of your hair follicle will never grow again.

@Gretel there are 3 common glue-less methods of applying lace wigs.
1. Wig clips - These look like small combs, but they have snaps or fasteners on them. They are typically sewn in along the lining of your lace wigs. You can also select lace wig units that uses a combination of clips. Wig clips can be bulky if it is not done properly. Wig clips don't allow you to wear the wig in a high ponytail without lifting the edges.
2. Use adjustable straps at the nape of the wig. The straps allow you the wig to fit tightly on your head without being uncomfortable. Look for units with adjustable straps or bands. The bands are installed around the back of the wig.

3. Sew in method - A lace wig can also be sewn down with your hair. It’s one of the longer lasting methods you can try. This method can be applied to full wigs. A sewn in wig can be very undetectable.
- Start with a small inverted cornrow (didi, I believe that what its called) around the perimeter of your hairline.
- The remaining hair in the middle can be braided all back or in a beehive - whatever you are most comfortable with, make sure that the braids lay flat for a flat appearance once the wig is applied.
- In front the small cornrow leave approximately 1/8" of your own hair out. This hair allows you to use your own hairline and achieve a natural look with edge of the lace wig hidden.
- Sew the lace wig onto the cornrow using a regular long sewing needle (not a weaving needle, it will not leave large holes in the lace = shedding) and 100% polyester clear thread.
- The “ears” of the lace wig may need to be pulled pulled and joined to the side nape area to achieve a flat look in the front.
